Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Who do you source your materials from?
At Allover Carpentry, we source our materials from a local timber yard in Mornington known as Mornington Timber and Decking.
You can check out their website here for more information at:
What's your most used/preferred decking?
We regularly use kiln dried 140 x 19mm Merbau boards as they're the least prone to bowing, cupping and twisting, unlike some other conventional timbers from competitors, as well as being the best-looking timber for the price, in our opinion.
But don't fret if 140mm wide boards are too big or you don't like the look of Merbau, as our timber yard also does smaller width boards and stocks a wide range of timber species.
How is the decking fixed?
To fix the decking to the subfloor, we use AnchorMark HS decking screws made from stainless steel, offering a high degree of weather resistance.
To learn more about these screws, visit the webpage at:
Alternatively, you can Google "AnchorMark" to visit their website.
Do you have samples of the decking for me to choose from?
Unfortunately, we don't have samples of available timbers on hand.
If you would like to see what is available for you to use, you can visit the timber yard Mornington Timber and Decking at 1 Carbine Way, Mornington VIC 3931, and speak with their professional consultants there.
Otherwise, we do have Merbau samples for you to see if and when we come to quote your job.
Who do you source your roofing from?
All our roofing needs have been sourced from Robot Building Supplies in Dromana for over 15 years.
Robot Building Supplies has consistently proven they're the best in quality for both colorbond and polycarbonate roofing. They supply a massive range of different colours and styles for both types of roofing, so if you become overwhelmed with choice, please don't hesitate to ask us for a recommendation.

What's the most widley used roofing?
How is the roofing fixed?
Depending on what roofing you choose, we use either self-drilling polycarbonate screws or metal to timber T17 screws. Both screws, offered by Robot Building Supplies, are excellent at holding colorbond and polycarbonate roofing down under all weather conditions and prevents water leakage through screw holes.
Robot Building Supplies can even supply the T17 screws to match the colour of your colorbond roofing so ask us when quoting.
Do you have samples of the roofing avaliable?
Unfortunately, we do not have samples of colorbond roofing, but you may see the range by either going to Robot Building Supplies website at:
Or visiting them instore at 2-6 June Ave, Dromana VIC 3936
